Vertical Compression

For those with solid axles, could you please measure and provide the following information.

First, what year is the truck? IFS or stock solid axle is fine.

Second, please measure from the top of the U-bolt plate straight vertically to the frame at ride height.

Last, please share bumpstop size and clearance.

Thanks.

85 frame, obviously factory solid axle.

8" between spring plate and frame.

4" poly bump stops, 3 1/4" clearance between spring plate and bumpstop on the side that doesnt have a bent spring.

Just over 7" frame to plate.

With 3" stroke bumpstops and breathing room for them, I should have around 4" of compression. Not too bad on a rig like this.

The bummer at the moment is a mis-calc on the crossover that is under the bell housing. Anyone have good leads for ovalized exhaust tube? If not, I may be making my own on the first good bump!!!

I've been down this road already. Not the cheapest, but good selection:
