FS: Rebuilt 22R-E

Hi everyone,

I definitely wasn’t planning to do this but I’d like to see if there is anyone that would be interested in buying my very recently rebuilt 22R-E out of my 1993 4x4. The motor is just barely broken in with about 900 miles. I have WAY too much money in it and would like to cut my losses now while I can still get some money for it. The motor was built with parts from Engnbldr when available and everything was assembled by a very reputable machine shop, and I have receipts for everything that I’ve put in it. It depresses me to add up the numbers and look at the pictures from assembling the engine which were just taken weeks ago. I have at least $1500 in it.

Here are the details:
- Engnbldr Street RV head: new casting, new O/S valves, etc… almost $500 in itself!
- Engnbldr 268C “Torkr” cam
- Engnbldr steel guide timing chain set
- All gaskets new, of course
- Brand new OEM Toyota head gasket
- ARP head studs
- Stock 1993 block, deck was confirmed flat. Bored 0.75mm over.
- New 0.75 O/S pistons, rings
- Piston pin bushings honed to size
- New rod & main bearings
- New brass freeze plugs

And probably a bunch of other stuff that I forgot. If you have a question, ask.

The engine has only been in the truck for barely three weeks. I picked up the block from the machine shop the day before New Years Eve and I recall it was running in the truck the following Tuesday. I changed the oil and filter after the cam break in, at 100 miles, 500 miles, and soon 1000 miles. Call me paranoid but I definitely had way too much time and money invested in it to skimp on the oil and filter.

The engine is still in the truck. The reason why I am considering selling it is that I am thinking about doing a more radical upgrade because I’ve got a buddy with a 302 he is dying to get rid of. My (huge) loss is your gain. I’d love to break even on it but that probably won’t happen. I’d consider offers around $1100 or so. I think that is pretty fair considering some of the upgrades (Street RV head, cam, ARP head studs, etc) and the price of a used junkyard engine or even a basic rebuilt engine from one of the many distributors.

I am located in Marysville, Ohio. I would obviously prefer someone that could come and pick it up but I would consider working out some kind of delivery or crate it up for pick up depending on the price.

Anyways, if you are interested please contact me. Thanks for your time.

Man, another motor thats too far away!!! I would take it if we could figure out some reasonable shipping...see what it would cost to put it on a pallet and ship to Gallup NM 87301 via truck freight...I do have a commercial shipping addy that would cut the cost a bit!!! let me know, maybe we can work something out!
