I was just backprobing my ECU to check the setting and function of my Throttle Position Switch (TPS) and was not getting the right volts at the ECU for Wide Open Throttle (WOT).
After much furrowing of my brow, by a process of elimination, I discovered that my freakin Husky Liner was preventing me getting true WOT.
So, I remove liner and the volts at the ECU are magically correct. (~ 4.0V btw VTA and E2)
Quick test drive and the difference is apparent. From what I have learned, WOT triggers the ECU into a richer mixture at roughly 12:1 for maximum bmep and away from the optimum 14.7:1 (stoichiometric) for full throttle or WOT enrichment.
In short, truck go better now when I plant loud pedal
So, not sure if you have Husky's but I will be trimming mine under the gas pedal tonight... you may want to check yours.

I had this same problem with my '93 4Runner with large mats. After some trimming my 3.slow was a little bit faster. It didn't keep the throttle cable from getting stuck at full because of some loose nuts in the engine compartment. That was fun.

So I should add the mat back when my GF drives as a safety measure ???

on my second gen the little rubber grommet thingie between the end of the throttle cable and the lever on the gass peddle was hossed, meaning i had like 1" of play in the peddle and there was no way i could get WOT. I've "afro-engineered" it for now, but need to come up with something a bit more permant that doesnt include replaceing the entire f'n cable.
