I've got a 92 Toyota SR5 Xtra cab 4x4 that I want to mount my Cobra 148GTL cb in. Problem is where to mount it. Where have members mounted there cb's in trucks? Please give me some good ideas.

I have mine mounted on the driver side trim piece by the shifters.

I have mine mounted in the extra 1 din slot below my CD player. Works good. I don't how big your CB is. I think it may be to big to mount there.

i know a lot of guys mounted it where the ashtray goes in 1st gen trucks, since it was right in the middle of the dash

 

Same with 2nd gen Runners.

I have a huge CB, so I had to mount mine on the glove box door.

If I keep this rig next year, I may end up getting a roof console to put it in like in the pic on my page.

i 'mounted' mine between the passenger seat and ctr console, it drops down out of site when not in use. i made an angled holder out of 3/4 plywood for the radio to rest in and have the controls and speaker above the edge of the seat for ease of use. the mic and support are hidden under the drivers seat and the antenna is a quick release k40 that i keep in the back. takes less than 30 secs to set up or take down.
