What seats?

Looking for seats for my 1st gen 4runner. I want something that holds you around turns and offroad, but not something thats a PITA to get in and out of. ANy ideas? Also something stylish and with in a low budget.

CRX Si & Civic Si seats from 89-91. They are a hot commodity but you might find a set in a local dismatler yard.

I don't know, but they wouldn't be hard to do a little bracket or re-drilling. They are great seats tho... I saw someone had them in their Toyota suv...but forget where I saw it now.

I got 86-89 seats in mine, very comfy and functional. Unless you are going hardcore or building a buggy, that is what I'd use. I'm 6'2", 225 and they work great for me.

if you want seats that give you the warm fuzzy feeling even when on a STEEP sidehill, go for some APC bucket seats, they are AWESOME, i wish they would fit in my car, so comfortable, and not too much of a PITA to get out of, only at first, and once you get used to them, you wont want to get out of anything else, when ever i drive my truck and then switch to my wifes F-250, i want my truck seats

Go with some Nextech Racing seats... They are the best seats that i have ever sat in! They are more of a PITA to get into than other seats, but not too bad. They have REALLY good lumbar support, and high bolsters to hold you in. They come with the sliders, then you have the brackets made to your application... As you can see in the bracket pic, they had to add tabs to mine so that i could slide it further forward so that i could put the clutch to the floor, as i am short (5'3")

I bought the seats from thunderbolt racing on ebay, they were $287 shipped, and i had the brackets custom made at a local shop for $150.

As for the brackets, we took the old stock sliders and cut the top section off, and then they welded in the cross bars to the bottom sections (they already bolted in, so it was easy this way).

Here are some pics:

Those seats look sweet, Morphias.

Taco, what about the stock "Sport" seats from some SR5 4runners? The ones with the lumbar and side adjustments?

I hate my 87's seats. They are terrible on my back, but maybe if you find some out of a truck that wasn't driven much, they'd be better. I'm 6'1 and they don't slide back far enough for me. I personally try to make some fit from a 3rd gen, those sport ones they were talking about. We have them in the 97, and they are SOOO great.

i sat in the driver seat of my friends supra(like an 89 i think?) and the chair was great! It had a compressor under the seat, and you could adjust the lumbar suport, and make the sides of the seat hold you tight, or loose. Where can i get these seats? ANyone know anythign about them?

That's the kind of seat that're in my 95... There's an adjustment on the side to make the side bolsters come in farther, or go out.
