What would you rather have? (33s + lockers vs 35s + no lockers)
So would you rather have a 1st GEN 4RUNNER on 35s with only a lift and regear, or a 1st gen 4runner with 33s,lift,regear and locker?
Im leaning toward the 33 package, but the extra tire size might be nice to have. ADVICE?

33s also...given its probably only slightly lifted...this way down the road you can do your own lift...and do it right...instead of buying a pre lifted truck probably riding on superlift/skyjacker/rancho springs...no thanks

33s and lockers. That's what I run right now as a DD. My rear diff is even welded.
You'll be amazed at who you can follow and where your rig will take you. Oh, you may drive on the side a little.

33's for sure
Where do I begin:
Cheaper (33's cost less, and require less lift)
More reliable (Gonna break less stuff)
More traction (Any time a locker/no locker scenario comes up it's a no brainer)
Less Trimming
Tested and proven

35s and lockers
I got my 35/12.50/15s cheaper than a set of 285/75/16 (33s) by $40 a tire which almost pays for 15 inch steelies. If you are going to get tires anyway (285s) and you got the lift to do it, get 35s and lockers.

well it is IFS. I do not have the $$$ to do a SAS or i would have done it by now. With that being said, im going to run 33s, just to be nice to the IFS. I will run lockers as well. My plan is to have this truck as a DD but be able to do the ocassional mud romp in it. Thanks guys.

If you want to wheel it, lockers will get you farther than open diffs assuming otherwise identical trucks. Tire size is pretty inconsequential.
33's are a managable DD tire, but 35's are not unmanagable.
