i haven't done a body lift, but, and correct me if im wrong, when you put a body lift on, your body gets lifted, but since your bumpers are attached to the frame, there will be a gap inbetween your bumper and body. so you usually relocate the bumpers afterwords. so with that being said, since the bumpers not being moved your TJM shouldnt have to come off unless you want to fill the gap. im just taking a stab in the dark, and someone will confirm or throw out my thought.

I think Steve said you could do it without taking it off ... I took mine off anyway, b/c I was mounting a winch at the same time

I took mine off as well, but I really don't think you need to. You will need to loosen up the upper 4 bolts on both sides and move the bumper up to it's highest mounting spot.

Do you want a Sonoran Steel Rear bumper? I have an extra one, drive up to Phoenix (Yeah, I know it's far) and it's yours, It's a 1" BL as well.

If you know how to ship it to you in Mex, I will.

No, I didn't have to remove my TJM bumper to do my BL.

I left my bumper on as well, when I did my lift, but eventually took it off to remount it higher.

Yeah, I later remounted mine higher too. Here are some pics of the modification to raise the TJM:

Steve--I would love a rear bumper--maybe when I get some more denero I make it up about 2x a year. One other question how much did it cost to retrofit your FJ62? I am kicking around the idea of a 40 or 60.......

Thanks guys for all of the replies--maybe I will try and post a pic after the install

I purchased the FJ-62 for $4800, at this point there is at least $15,000 more in it and tomorrow we drop off off to have it's engine rebuilt.

Oh joy, more money.
