Transmission options for 22rte

Recently bought a 86 pick up 4x4 on 1 tons with a w56 transmission which already broke. I cant seem to find a w56 anywhere to replace it so I was wondering is there any transmissions that will bolt on? If so, which cars/trucks canr with it. Just joined today brw

A quick search will give you results you are asking. But there are many that will bolt right in from a g54 to a R151f. The shift locations will be slightly different depending on whether the one you get is a forward shift or not. The r151f that was stock with the turbo truck is highly sought after and stronger than the other options, But hard to find compared to the w56. Your next best bet in regards to strength is the w56 then the g54. You can also put in a r150 if you have a turbo bellhousing and a gear drive tcase adapter. But getting the bellhousing from the r151f to use the r150 alone will make it difficult to get what you need.

Thank you much, I'll keep looking for the 56 unless I come across a 54. I'm just trying to get up and running. Will s w59 work? I think I can put my 56 bell house on it.

Yes and no, You could put your bellhousing on from the w56 and bolt it in to you truck, but you taces will not bolt up. The tcase that comes with a w59 is a drivers side drop.
