3rd gen transmission options

I know for the V6 there is an auto available and I believe a 5speed, is it the same for a 4 cyl. Are they the same transmissions for both engines? Anyone know the designations for the transmissions?

Try a search under 4runner history section
I think you can get them with either AT or manaul (5sp) so same transmissions, but the 4cyl is going to be very slow with an AT. Maybe someone else can chime with some advice.

mine is a 4cylinder 5 speed, its not bad at all especially with 4.56 gears on 32" tires

The transmissions are different on the 5speed v6 and the 5speed 4banger, i believe they are.
