manual locking hub clutch size?

I just did the whole ADD to manual swap and everything went well. Mostly.

The two clutches I received are slightly different. One is a little taller (if laid flat) than the other. Everything I read shows that they should be the same size right?

They bolt up great and everything fits, however I'm still spinning one CV. It won't even disengage on the bench. I can machine it down but would prefer not to.

1: is there a right and left?
2: does anyone know where I can buy 1 clutch?

I have the FSM but it doesn't show a part number for just the clutch. Thinking about heading over to Toyota on monday.

I'm a bit confused. You posted in the 84-85 section then said ADD swap. ADD was on later IFS trucks not SFA '84-85. Next manual hubs from what year? IFS and SFA hubs are different, one can be modified to work on the other but not vice versa, don't remember details but a quick search should explain. You mention CVs which aren't on 84-85 trucks, except drive shaft. So clarify and pics help.

muddpigg, I have a later year IFS rig, but am trying to find out where this other clutch came from. It is the same spline as mine, but too tall. Are SFA clutch hubs the same on both sides?

When you say clutch I think friction disc between to metal surfaces to transfer and disconnect torque between them. Aisin hubs have hub gears absolutely no clutches to lock and unlock.

Red face

Toyota has some strange names for parts.

Those two pieces should be the same size .

These is no right and left you should have two identical hubs

Did these Hubs come in a box all disassembled ??
