Talking 3.GO 190HP Raptor engine install

So I haven't been on here in a while, been messing with my other project a 67 Mustang.

Well my head gasket popped again, only had like 30k on this one. Instead of rebuilding top end again i decided on replacing the engine.

Purchased one of the Raptor 190HP engines. Have yet to receive it, should come tomorrow. Also purchased the Thorley headers which are already here.

Hopefully it will be the 3.GO!

I was going to wait to post any of this info until after I was done and just lay it all out at one time. that way all pics would be ready and would be able to answer any questions. But I had a question of my own.

My question is is it possible to install headers with engine out and drop engine in with headers already installed?
Would I risk damaging something? or the headers themself?

Please no "3.4 Swap" advice, I would have loved to but needed to spend a little less and didn't have the extra time to invest as this is my daily driver and its hard managing without transportation.

Some pics of my progress.

Painted my intake and valve covers with black wrinkle paint.

Going to sand TOYOTA logo with a sanding block for a nice brushed aluminum look, hopefully they will last and wash off easily.

That is all for now, an answer to my header question would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!!

Actually not powder coat. Its VHT wrinkle paint, I sprayed on really thick and then put it in the oven at 200 for like 3 hours. Takes about 24 hours to fully cure.

Looks good. VHT honestly needs the oven to cure correctly. it should hold up.

That's what I found about the vht as well. I painted and ak47 I built with their 2000 degree paint. Holding up awesome.

Mak, I've seen your exhaust thread. Do you think they would slide in with engine?

I'll probably set engine in and install headers in engine compartment just not all bolted down.

Thanks for the input!

Excited about the new engine! Should run pretty good!

Anyone else installed headers with engine out of truck?

I was able to pull my engine with my Downey headers still installed but putting it in might be quite a headache. I think you'd be better off doing them once the motors set in with everything out of the way.

And that wrinkle paint looks amazing on that intake. Should look even better with the Toyota sanded. I love contrasted looks like that.

Actually, it'll look very similar to the TRD superchargers nowadays.

That's probably what I'll do! Won't have hassle of removing the original exhaust setup. Thanks for the compliments!

1995, no tax.
Shipping was 200 for both ways. Had it delivered to work instead of house because they wouldn't be able to get freight truck through the gate.
Was cheaper since it was shipped to a business.

No core charge unless I don't return it.

Thanks man! Won't be able to this weekend but hoping to get it in next week, but may be the week after. Depends on time I can spent on it on day off and after work. Its tough because its at my dads house since I live in an apartment. And getting over there without a car is a challenge. In the middle of all this I'm in the middle of working on a promotion.

I'm excited. Its gonna be awesome!!
