thorley headers

Very nice.

I just moved from C Station back in Sept. Do you mind if I ask where you got the headers? You going back with the cat, or whats the plan?

Is Pearland a county with smog label?

I'll post the brand of gaskets it came with. Don't remember of the top of my head.

Got them on summit with a buddys discount. They were like 525.

Already have a magna flow high flow cat and muffler, but will be getting all new pipes welded since I don't like how thorley intends them to be routed.

We do have emissions regulations,
And I do plan to remove all the vacuum crap, and my emissions parts. Not worried about the sticker because I have the hookup on that.

Again thanks for all the compliments, I would be spending all day tomorrow working on it but I have an interview for my promotion, so it won't be until after that till I can go work on it. I'll hopefully have some pics for yall tomorrow.

Thanks for all the compliments. My only worry is that it won't look nice in the engine bay because I don't have a good way to clean the engine bay. Its in a garage and with the slant and bumps in front of it i would never get it back in if i pushed it out. So I can't use a scrub brush, degreaser and a water hose.

Thanks for the info, please keep us informed when it comes to the vacuum deletes. I'm tired of all of them on mine, but am not familiar enough with the 3.0 to start tearing stuff off.

Dang... that engine looks clean!

If you can, please get it dyno'd when it's all put together! This could be a game changer for the 3VZE if it's documented well and an alternative to the 5VZFE swap.

I'm thinking about getting it dynoed if I can get a good price on it, Or I'll just have to save some extra money.
I wish I had a before dyno!

You can get rid of almost all the vacuum lines with the exception on 1or 2. I'll post pics and show you which ones I'm removing.

I guarantee your would have dyno'd in the 130-140 range. Most dyno's I've seen for a stock or mostly stock 3VZE with an average mileage for 20+ years have been about 135.

Seems about right. I have 33s with stock 4.56 gears and a 5 speed. Once engine is broke in I'll see about getting it dynoed. Dyno time is just expensive.waiting on some parts to get delivered today and I'll be off to work on it. Waiting on timing idlers.

Yeah, don't feel like you have to, it is pricey. Though there might be some out there who want upgrade so bad, they might pitch in a few dollars to see if it's worth it...

This could be the best thread ive read yet!! Vacuum lines delete?!?!? Where did you get the engine from? I havnt been in a 3.0 long but thought there wasnt any replacement power wise for it besids a diff engine swap. Whats the difference in build?

Edit, i just did a google search and answered most of my questions about the engine,

Didnt have much time today but i Got timing idlers, got a little work done today. Oil pump, lower intake plenum, and all timing components installed besides the belt.

Egr/vacuum delete pics will come when I get engine in the truck.

If people want to pitch in for dyno it would be sweet! But I'll wait till its installed and broken in before I worry about that. Maybe get a dyno tune while I'm at it.

Starting to look like an engine again.

No issues, shipping took a while and the shipper showed up with a truck and no liftgate. Maybe that's because it was delivered to a car business so they knew we could unload it. We got it out, but a lifgate would have been nice.

Customer service has all been good, every time I call they answer And its always the same guy.

The brand of all the gaskets is "Enginetech" with "fire seal" technology.

Anyone have experience with this brand of seals?
