1st gen tacoma electrical issues

I was driving home from work yesterday and I hit a pothole that I didn't see in time, a few seconds after that my fan blower, Speedo, tach, and temp gauge all quit working at the same time, fuel gauge works just fine, everything is plugged in to the back of the instrument panel, truck still runs good, starts up and drives fantastic

I had a similar issue. Here is how I fixed mine. Is your ENG fuse blown?

FIXED!!! Mine was the Reverse Lights on the Tranny. It has a protective sleeve and depending on how the sleeve slides, it can cover the wires where they rub against the tranny leaving them exposed. Below is other fixes for this problem.

A possibility if "fan blower, Speedo, tach, and temp gauge" share the ENG fuse. Gotta look at schematic.

However, regardless of what O.P. finds out, I highly recommend inspecting that because wiring to back-up light switch is poorly routed and design could be better (switched ground would make it safer), as shown here.

I will need to make sure it is the ENG fuse. I know when I fixed mine, they all shared the same fuse. It kept shorting out and all the same fuse. There are several other things on that circuit as well. I think he will find he has a blown fuse. It will be in the drivers side kick panel in the cab.

chickenhammer,
Mind posting schematic of your truck? The part that shows all "fan blower, Speedo, tach, and temp gauge"

On my 2000 what he lost is all powered by the 10 amp gauge fuse as well as the back up lights.

Go figure!!
