2wd or 4wd bed

I have a 85 x-cab 4x4 been looking for a bed for along time. But now I have found two of them but both of them are on 2wd pickups. My question is will they work on a 4wd pickup and is there any mods that i will have to do to them? One is 2 hours away and he wants $700 for and the other is 11 hours away and only wants $225 for. Which one do you think I get? I'm clueless here. Thank you guys for your help. Tony

this is somthing i've always wanted to do actually. I would go for the 700$ one if its in good shape. Only because its closer. Maybe you could talk him down? Cause if there is any rust at all its not worth that much. my .02c

yeah, I only paid $100 for my 4x4 bed and it only had surface rust and one dent... then again, I don't think that guy really knew what he had. He only wanted $700 for the whole parts truck. (motor, both axles, full interior and all)

FYI the american 2wd and 4wd beds are the same thing. The japanese beds are the one like pictured above and don't have the bulge over the rear wheel.

Edit: This truck was a 2wd to begin with. Notice the bed is exactly the same as a 4wd bed. This would be the American bed.

Oh yeah and for $700 that bed better have not one dent, not one speck of rust or basically any flaw for that matter. Jeez people ask way too much for these things.

I paid all of $500 for the truck pictured above (not including the parts to convert to 4wd). search around.

Hey guys thanks for your help I didn't get either one. The $225 was a long bed and the $700 had way to much rust on it for my taste. Thanks again Tony
