Does my power steering pump need rebuild?

So I'm leaking what I'm 99%sure is ATF from the power steering pump but I can't tell 100% with the pump in the truck. So I was Hoping someone who has been here before can help me. The leak looks like it's coming from a plug hole where the spot of the light is and the leak is really worse then it looks lol.

Yes. Order a rebuild kit from autozone. It's about 15 bucks. I believe there is an o ring on the shaft that runs through that bore its leaking from

This is one I would order from the dealer. The seals and o rings are better and everything just fits. The bearing is also a good thing to replace, but the kit does not have it...so order that seperately too.

I tend to agree with you but 13 vs 55 dollars for the kit checker brand to oem I would have to do the checker rebuild 4 times before the oem would pay off

Well, you do get what you pay for. I tend to put a high value on my time, so I am willing to buy the best and only do it once...insted of multiple times.

04446-35010 Rebuilt Kit $35.66
44363-17004 Bearing $31.93

Okay I bought the kit and got starte but have a few questions

What should I lube the o-rings with?atf or other

Also the brass piece that comes in everyone's kit is the union fitting. Well I removed my old one and my new one is a much different size and in the fsm it says only "floating" replacements are available does this mean it just sits in there like that? Kinda seems easy to loose that way when changing out high pressure power steering line .
