curiousity, wider axles that fit 1st gen 4runner thirds?
I'm curious, are there any wider axles that fit the 1st gen 4runners (and all the other applicable gens/models). I know there is the IFS rear axle that is 3" wider (have one), but looking for any other toyota axles that would be able to have those thirds bolt right up (or small modifications). Just curious really, just like to know options for future ideas or needs.

FJ-80 & FZJ-80 Landcruisers have 8" front and 8.9" rear axles.

These vehicles also had an optional 8.875" REAR electric locker. This one has been retrofitted into other Landcruiser models with considerable effort (see this article), but it doesn't appear to be compatible with any non-Landcruiser vehicles.

Then it occurs to me. The 1 ton full-floater dually rear axles are probably wider, and they use the same 3rd members(8").

...I am using the toyota full float 1-ton dually rear axle, it was sold on toyota motor homes, some models of long chassis flatbed trucks, and the toyota U-Haul trucks, I had to hunt around to find it, but they do exist.

What is the width of the dually full floater rear? WMS to WMS? I know the rear axle housing on an IF is 58.5" (older ones are 55").
79-85 front axle~ 55.5", rear axle~ 55"
'86-95 front IFS~ 59", rear axle~ 58.5"
Tacoma 4x4, '96-up 4runner front IFS~ ???, rear axle- 60"
T100 front IFS~ 65", rear axle~ 66.75"
Tundra front/rear~ ??
'90-97 Landcruiser FJ-80/FZJ-80 front axle~ 63.5"
Perhaps the dually rear with a 90-97 land cruiser front could made a good combination? I have an ifs rear sitting around and want to make a full floater out of it with a rear disc break conversion etc... The trucks and up getting a little tall, so the wider wheel base would be an added plus (preaching the choir, but pointing the obvious out).

OK So I measured. 77" outside tire to tire, and 52.5" backplate to backplate.
6 bolt rear dual wheels,new cooper 185r14 8-ply tires.76.5 inches.
it is 61.5 inches WMS to WMS (wheel mount surface to wheel mount surface)
