1990 4runner suspension

ok so i am planning on lifting my '90 4runner, i already have 1.5 bj spacers for the front and 1.5 coil spring spacers. I was looking into getting the ome 2inch coilsprings and putting my spacers on those, then doing a t bar crank so it will be level. will there be any issues with this set up and what else would i need (longer shocks, longer brake lines, etc.) thanks

One, it will ride like crap with the torsion bars cranked that high. Two, you're going to be putting serious strain on your CVs.

You'll want new shocks if you plan on offroading. Rather than cranking your torsion bars, get new coils up front. Unless you don't care how it drives and just want it lifted.

Also, you'll definitely want a front differential drop kit. They are only around $15, easy to install, and will save your CV axels.

They have front coils for 2nd gens? And what kind of shocks do I need for this set up

Toytec actually doesn't have too many options for 2nd gen 4runners. Try 4crawler.com

sweet thanks man, and what else can i do to lift the front, im not looking to pay over 500 for a complete kit and if i do crank the t bars anything else i should do to the front end?

I'd say get Toytec's:

2" rear lift OME coils (and add the spacers you already have into those new coils)
The rear shocks I sent you the link to

For the front you can add another spacer or crank the torsion bars.
And then get the front shocks I sent you the link to.

It won't ride the best but will look great!

I have 3" lift rear coils, front spacer, new shocks all the way around on my 3rd gen and I love it. The OME coils aren't as smooth as stock but still great coils.

thanks man youve made this a lot easier, i think thats what im going to do, do i need a panhard relocation bracket? and the sway bar drop kit?

To be honest I'm not sure for the 2nd gens. I didn't need either of those for my 3rd gen. On Toytec's website you can email them and ask them questions. Email them and tell them what set up you're going to be using and ask if you'll need a new panhard bar or a relocation bracket for it and/or sway bar.
Like I said I didn't need either of those on my 3rd gen 4runner. I did a OME 3" on a 2nd gen and didn't do either of those either. So you should be good but email Toytec and ask them just in case!

There are no other spacers you can add to the front. You could get a drop bracket kit.

And no, and won't work great. You will have little to no down travel.

I had a hard time keeping the front level with the rear with just the OME 900 springs in the rear, you'll never pull it off with the coils and the spacers in the rear unless you get a bracket lift setup for the front. If you went with thicker torsion bars and cranked the crap out of them to get as close as possible, your suspension would be pretty much all the way topped out. Even if you got a diff drop, it would still be hard on your cv's and steering parts.

If you want 3 1/2 to 4 inches of lift, you need to save up and do it right for the front, but the OME springs and spacer are ok for the rear. Yes, I would recommend a panhard drop bracket, and if you like your swaybars get extensions for them, too. With spacers on top of the lift springs, I think I'd also recommend rear shocks for a Land Cruiser fj80 instead of the Runner shocks, mostly to prevent topping out the shocks with that much height.

How big are you planning to go in the end? What do you want the rig to be good for in the end? If about the height of the 2" coils plus your spacer, then I would get the springs, leave that spacer off, and then just decide if you need it soft in front or not.

If yes, install ball joint spacers and level it to the springs in the rear. If not, just turn the torsion bolts til you have the desired ride height.

After either front end plan, get an alignment, then start saving for bigger and better for the front.

Are you lifting it for looks? Clearance for tires? Crawling? High speed over rough roads?

I just ruined my clutch due to hard mudding s for the time being just looks but I drive a lot and eventually want to clear 33s

Ok, well if the majority of the wheeling you do is in mud you wouldn't really need to put the ball joint spacers on. I still would if I were you. With a little careful trimming, you could then fit 33x12.5's with no or very little rubbing. You could fit 33x10.5's with the same trimming and not even lifting it, though.
