Trying to retrieve MIL code... all I get is blinking cruise light

As title says...

I am trying to diagnose why my Rear anti-lock light is on.
First thing the manual says is to check the code being thrown.
I hook up my paper clip as indicated. Turn ignition on and all i get is a rapidly flashing cruise control light. At a steady pace with no change. ie: it's not a code it's just steady blinking.

wtf? this has worked on all previous toyota trucks i've owned.

Any idea on what's causing this issue?

Much appreciated.

Tc and E1 as the manual suggests.

Double and triple checked.

Neat.

It's supposed to be TE and E1.

Service Manual, engine diagnostics section. Even shows you a diagram.

That's what I love about Yotatech. An almost right question gets an almost right answer.

The MIL (Malfunction indicator light) is read with TE and E1 (Stuwy123). But that doesn't tell you anything about the braking system! (That is why the OD light is flashing, because TE-E1 also triggers the transmission diagnostics.)

To find a problem with the braking system, you DON'T want the MIL, instead you go Tc and E1 (easy-3VE). That flashes the Rear Anti-Lock light.

So you got the wrong connectors with your SST (Stuwy123, but not for the reason given).

Make sense, I see how I was referring to the wrong indicator/light now. Sorry about that. To be honest, it was hard to know which light was being referred to because it just says "the warning light." Since none of them seemed to be blinking as indicated by the manual i just assumed it was suppose to be the MIL light coming on. My mistake. I will go have another look after work.

Any luck figuring out how to get the rear anti lock light to show the code?? I jumped Tc and E1 and nothing happens with the rear anti lock light.
