totaled 85 toyota... trying to salvage

i have an 85 yota that i just put a new engine and tranny in after getting 319k miles out of the old ones, 2 weeks after i put new stuff in it, a jeep took a left in front of me and my truck is now totaled...
what i was wondering is what years can i put my engine and tranny into? and my truck was 4x4 so do i need to find a 4wheel drive truck to put my parts into? im new around here and have a ton of questions, so please be patient lol and can i take my solid axles and put them on another year? im just trying to salvage all i can off my old truck, it would be awesome if i could find another 85 but those are hard to come by out here in phx az... and the ones i have found have big 22" rims and are slammed to the ground... i found a nice 89 that i can pick up for 400$ but i want to be sure i can put my parts into it, and i dont believe the 89 is 4x4 but im not sure. ANY AND ALL INFO WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

P.S.
if anybody knows of an 85 4x4 close to phx (CALI, VEGAS, NM) for sale let me know about it plz

Depends.
Is your 85 carbed, or fuel injected?

And what is really totaled?
Just body damage, or is your frame bent?

Motor will bolt in swap into 82-95 if it had a 22R/RE.

Solid front axle only 79-85 unless you do a SAS on an IFS, 86-95.

Definitely swap it into something

there is body damage and the frame is bent... and my 22r is carb'd
most of the damage is to the front a driver side, and the front of the frame is bent.
i tried to upload some pics but it wont let me from my phone..the passneger side is fine though. does anybody know i can put a 4x4 tranny into a 2wheel toyota? i heard you can convert it, but it takes time and money

Better off finding a 79-89 truck, preferably 79-85, and swapping your junk into that
