Puttin in a New Motor

So I'm putting a "new" motor in my 86 pickup. My plan is the find a motor (long block), new clutch and flywheel, new water pump, and Headers. I've been looking for a motor and haven't had much lucky in finding a "cheap" one. I have a similar problem with the headers too, I found a set of Pace Setter Headers but I'm not sure if they are California Legal tho. So basically what I'm asking for is so advice/suggestions. If anyone knows of any places in NorCal to get a motor that would be awesome. Last but not least any advice for "cheap" performance parts or stuff that would be cool too.
Thanks

Go up to Rancho Cordova on sunrise blvd there are several wrecking yards that specialize in toyota`s, you should be able to find a motor there.

SORRY IF I'M LONG WINDED BUT PLEASE READ!! Now I have another idea and I thought I'd see what u guys think. My buddy has a 92 pickup 2wd with a 22RE and I guess his connecting rod just broke driving to Sac. so he said he'd sale it to me for $500. He just paid $400 to get the suspension redone. So I was planning on buying it and putting a short block in it and get the head checked. Then put that motor in my truck and either parting out the 92 or selling it complete. So my questions are: How hard would it be to swap a 22R with a 22RE (smog and everything) would it be better just to put a 22R long block in my truck and not even worry about the 92? Would it be smarter the fix the motor in the 92 and keep the motor in it and sell it for profit? How much more power can I get out of the 22R over the 22RE? Sorry for being so long winded.

If you want to keep the fuel injection that`s on the 92, you would have to swap the wiring harness to make it work.

My buddy has all the wiring on it and everything so couldn't I just take all the wiring and put it in mine?

Would it be smarter just to put a 22R in my truck and not even worry about the 92 then? And does anyone know how much I could get for the 92 any way? I was kind of thinking about calling Pick and Pull to see how much they would give me.
