LIFESPAN of rebuilt 22-re?

Whats was/is the mileage on your rebuilds? Also yr/model.

88 Yota 4runner

Mine's not rebuilt but if it's been done right I would think at least a couple hundred thousand miles.

91 4x4 ran hard and put away wet. bounces off the rev limiter almost every time i drive it. 3yrs old and 25k, still running like a champ.

1988 22re fuel injection rebuilt at 235,000 now have 264,000.

Are we talking with oil in the engine.

Or no oil.

Will the oil ever be changed .

Will this be owned and driven by someone who knows where the stock fuel filter location is or was .

All these things go towards how long the engine will last.

I was giving someone a ride in my 87 4Runner when they asked how many miles I get to the change oil light(service engine) came on.

No doubt in my mind that person would keep driving unless they thought that rod knocking was anything serious.

It also depends what you mean by last timing chains still will wear out and need replaced .

Hoses pop causing overheating which has a tendency to cause a head gasket failure

if you don`t count these things and change oil on a regular basis i think 250,000 miles could be a attainable mileage before the bearings and rings needed replacing

My thoughts any how
