86 4runner keeps dying/ rough idle

Hey everyone,
I'm very new to toyotas and 4x4. Just bought an 86 4runner but I'm having some problems with it. It idles rough, and when I'm driving down the road it'll sometimes die when I let off the gas. Also it's idleing at about 900-1000 and I heard it was supposed to be at 700. One more problem is the truck failed emissons for everything.

So far the only problem I see on the engine is the rubber part on the intake is cracked. So I've taped that up and am ordering a new one tomorrow.

The engine is supposed to only have about 20k on it.

please help!

Well first I would pull the plugs and do a compression test.

After that a complete tune up including valve adjustment and inspecting the O2 sensor.

Replace all the vacuum hoses per the diagram under the hood and also test the TPS

With a new to you used vehicle you kinda need to start at the beginning and check EVERYTHING.
