22re ran out of oil
I woke up for church and went out to start my truck. I went back in, came back out 5 mins later and the motor wasn't running.. I was like oh..crap.
Anyways, checked the dipstick, no oil. And no, the oil light never came on the day earlier when I was driving it. But my question is, when it ran out of oil, the RPM's were only at like 600-700, and it wasn't actually driving. So maybe I have a chance of freeing it up somehow? My dad said no way.. But maybe if stuff inside didn't bind up all the way or bend or something, maybe it has a chance?

Same happened to a 2000 isuzu rodeo v6 that used to be my wifes and now i gave it to my lil cousin. I drained the tiny bit of oil in it and dropped some mobile1 5/30 into it with a lil lucas started her up for like 3 seconds and the engine shook violently so i turned it off quick. Its trashed right?

First thing to go is generally the rod bearings, main bearings, after that- the motor will seize due to no lubrication on the cylinder walls. That's if it doesn't spit a rod through the side of the block first.

My first thought is someone drained it. Find them and kill them.
Ok as far as trying to save it goes I'd say fill it with the oil of your choice along with some Lucas oil treatment. Pull the spark plugs and using a spray bottle shoot some oil into the holes, turn the engine by hand a few times and keep lubing the cylinders with the spray bottle. Then crank it a few times without the plugs in it. Put the plugs back in, fire it up (don't worry about all the smoke since that is all the oil you sprayed in the holes burning off) and let it idle to operating temp. You'll have to change the plugs probably but if it runs and stops smoking then a few bucks for plugs is a good investment.

If someone drained it, wouldn't there be a big puddle of oil underneath?
Is the drain plug in. I doubt if anyone would put it back in.
As others have said a) they do run out of oil sometimes b) might be 1 quart low.

If you can't turn the crank with a wrench, then I would definately say the crank, #4 bearing and most likely #3 bearings are at the very least toast. Cyl walls should be fine. Mine were in my rebuild when I seized the crank twice becaus of no oil pressure. (missing oil galley plug on the front) If engine is seized (ie cannot turn by hand) Your gonna have to drop the pan to check it out. Mine ran for about 5 minutes at about 3500-4000 RPM without oil pressure the first time.
