i gotta pick up 2 yards of sand tomorrow trailer and all will weigh about 4,000 lbs. i only gotta go maybe 8 miles but just wondering wether i should be nervous using a bumper thats mainly for off-road. am i putting this bumper way past its max capacity. I know marlins site doesnt give a towing capacity for this bumper. would anyone else be nervous using this bumper for this? thanks guys.

 

i would be nervous....but i guess it all depends on how you hooked it to the frame...bolts..i prolly wouldnt do it, welded sure why not

Tow with the proper vehicle and hitch.

 

Maybe you could ask them to only put in 1 yard, then make 2 trips?

 

or ya could brace it and weld it to the frame...brace it some more...then tow what ya want with it!

I'd be more worried about the brakes being unsafe than the hitch.

 

Agreed, I have no doubts the marlin could take it. I pulled a power washing trailer that was about 5000lbs around a friends property a few times while we where doing work, never out on the road. The question is your truck up to the task? It will probably pull it no problem but stopping is another matter.

put part of the sand in your bed of your truck the other in the trailer and if you need to make two make two its worth being safe and being smart lol
