iv got a 87 yota 4runner im want to put a one peice front axel in and i wanted to know if one from a mid 60's land cruser would be a safe swap i know the guts will be replaced but will it work ok? any info would be great or other ideas

A 60's vintage Landcruiser axle would probably not be the best starting point, has the weaker knuckle/hub section and likely drum brakes. A pickup or 4Runner axle is a better starting point.

You definatly want an axle from an 84-85 truck or 4Runner, look at the picture below my user name, thats my 86 4Runner with a solid axle swap. I will also be moving to Grangeville Idaho next may, not all that far from you.
