I've looked over all the posts I could find on replacing the lower ball joints on a 1993 4Runner and still had a few questions.

Some have said to place a wood spacer on the upper control arm before the rig is lifted is this the easiest way. Also some mention unbolting the shock and sway bar? My manual doesn't mention that. Anyway I going to try replacing them this weekend and any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have the 555 brand ball joints, a pittman arm puller and a big hammer...
