My Stock CD Player

It doesn't want to play burned CDs anymore; however, original CDs work just fine. Does anyone have any idea why?

Thanks,

Nam

Are you burning the songs onto the cds as .wav files or .mp3s?

That might make a difference.

Poke Runner,

I've aways burned songs from mp3s...but the same CD that used to play before now it doesn't. Anyways, the problem has been solved hopefully since I stick an original CD in and now it plays all duplicated CDs. Thanks all for your help.

Nam

PS. Poke Runner, nice rig on your signature!

Yeah I have that wonderful 3 CD cartridge one. Sometimes it works on mine sometimes it doesn't or it takes forever to go between tracks. There there is the ever famous error code "E-02".

Hijack in progress...

My original CD player, the one with the CD, Tape and AM/FM is having trouble. The CD's skip. I could play with nothing wrong then all of a sudden I might get 4-5 skips fairly close to one another. This seems to be independent of rough road conditions. I used a CD lens cleaner without any apparent effect.

What to do???

Well for those of you thinking of replacing your CD players let me just tell you now, don't even bother trying to get a stock one. The 3 cd player goes for more than $700 if you can believe that, plus you can get a damned good deck for that these days.

Todd

P.S. The real scarry part is the newer trucks with the 6 cd indash unit are even worse than all the other ones combined.

My sister had the exact same cd player in her '97 camry, and it was doing the same thing to her. I guess they're all like that.
