Exhaust

Howzit guys, looking for some good feedback on this hopefully I get some good advice. I have 91' pick-up extra cab v6 (3vze). I'm looking into buying a real good exhaust system for it, I'm just wondering which brand is good. I do alot of hunting so I kind of want it silent, but yet put out some good performance on my truck. Mahalo plenty and malama pono.

oh boy, you'll getting into more than you know asking this question. My advice go to an exhaust shop have'm do a cat back system of 2.25 pipe out the rear. Not sure of muffles I run a glasspack. If you shop around you can get a good deal but if you go to the neighborhood menieke you'll get hosed. In Tx I asked around and found one that was in business forever, did great work, ran everything to my wants (tucked up high out of harms way) and they were a fraction of the price of a chain shop. Didn't speak english but awesome work for a good price and I speak spanish.

Mahalo to YT.

Just stick with stock.
Nothing, exhaust wise, is going to have much effect on increasing "performance" on that vehicle.
Can't quite understand why people think that you can just bolt on an exhaust system, and all of the sudden find 50hp or something.
Ain't go'n happen.

Well if you add headers and get rid of cat you will have slight hp increase. But if you want quite but good performance well.... not much out there unless to get a new stock exahust put on it. Fix all exhaust leaks. You can gut out the cat it will help a lil bit.

Adding "Headers" on ANY vehicle will hardly give you any gains in horsepower, or performance UNLESS you are running an open header, with no exhaust system, however every little bit helps, with a good header and exhaust the 22RE/3VZE MIGHT pick up 5-10 horsepower, horsepower is a bogus number anyways, what you want is Torque, look at those turbo's honda rice grinders that make like 800 horsepower but only put out 140 ft lbs of torque. If you want it loud, cut the muffler off, and leave the cat on there, if you don't leave it alone.

High flow cat, 2.25" piping and an 18"-24" Magnaflow muffler.
Either that or keep the stock muffler, get a high flow cat and new piping if you need it.
