Tellico with IFS?

I can't find anything on this with the search.

We'll soon be having our first child and I feel like I'll need a vehicle with an accessible back seat. If I make a change I'll have to pick between selling my '90 x-cab pickup and getting a 4 door truck, or selling the Wrangler and getting a car. If I keep the truck then I want it to be able to handle trails similar to those at Tellico.

If the truck turns into the off-road vehicle then it'll get rocker guards, f&r lockers, and a winch at the least. SAS won't be in the budget. I also won't be bobbing the bed because the truck still needs to carry stuff in the bed.

So has anyone here done any of the harder trails at Tellico with an IFS pickup/runner?

I go to Tellico almost every weekend when its open. I'm unfortunatly in a jeep right now but that is changing and I am going back to yota. Slickrock, Guardrail, schoolbus, and Helicoperpad are all very doable in an IFS yota with lockers. and a good set of mud terrains. I would stick with a 33x12.50 though. yell when you want to go. I will have a yota by the time it opens and hopefully have it sas'd by then but we will see.

glad we get the family car back in business hahaha.

but just like t$ said, tellico is very doable in an IFS. i took mine for the 1st time on the 7th and did 6 4 and 5. and with as good as it did, it could handle more. you'll have no worries. JUST DON'T BOUNCE!

Thanks for the responses. I feel a little better about trying the truck up there. It's in good shape now and I don't want to end up trashing it. One of my main concerns is hanging up on the rear bumper in places like the bottom of Guardrail but I'll figure something out if that ends up being the case.

If anyone has some pictures please feel free to post them.

Thanks.

Jeep pics are fine but what I'd really like to see is some IFS Toyotas on some of the harder stuff.

Not everything. Some trails are still some of the hardest around. 3,4,5,6 all are easy. 7 is closed but pecerwood is intense. Guardrail is doable for an IFS rig but you need to really have some seat time and front rear lockers. In the winter with it icy I'm not sure I'd try it. School bus is pretty awsome but once again need some experience. I would not take an IFS rig on Lower 2. Slickrock is a good trail for IFS. Its been a while since I've been to helicopter pad but it used to be pretty rough. 4,5, and 6 will take up alot of the day especially if you stop and play around a bit on the fun obstacles and fains ford
