Hello all,
Does anyone know the torque spec for the camshaft pulley bolts? Also, which idler pulley is number 1? Is it the top pulley between the two camshaft pulleys or is it the one just below the water pump?

Thanks, but it does not say which idle pulley is number 1 and which one is number 2. They also did not remove the camshaft pulleys so there is no torque spec.

I have been searching for this info and I can't find anything.

The short answer is 81 ft/lbs... but get the FSM, it's like having a cheat sheet for working on your truck.

No 1. Idler pulley is down by the waterpump

 

Hi Doug! I know the crank bolt is 217ft-lb for the 5vz but is the camshaft bolt 217 too? At first I though he was asking about the crank bolt.

 

Doh!.. crap. I missed that. I see torque specs on a timing belt change and automatically go to the most often asked spec for the pain in the ass bolt.

If for nothing else, getting the FSM keeps you from getting bad info from people who mistake your question (like me).
