New pic of leds tails. On my truck.

96-98 LED TAILS

99-00 LED TAILS

01-02 LED TAILS

This picture does not do these tails justice. These are super bright in person, look awesome, and are high quality.

Looks good. Are they 01-02 4runner taillights the same as the 01-04 Tacoma? Just thinking a set would look good on my Tacoma.

It's a Vortex muffler, http://www.burtmanindustries.com/zoo...vortex_muffler - Then I just had an exhaust shop put the tips and piping on. You listen to a vide on the link above also. It sounds great.

No leds for 1st gens. I do have for 89-95 Pickup, ,05+ taco and Tundra.

Yeah, I've had my eye on a set of these for a while, but I can't come to terms with the price.

So does this mean the 01-02 LED 4runner taillights are different/don't fit 01-04 Tacoma's? Thought they were the same (my aunt has a 01 4runner). Not sure if your post was answering my question in combo with others or not. Thanks.

I think they are different? The only way to know is to steal the ones off your aunt's truck, and see.

Are these clear LEDs? I need RED for my JDM tail lights, if they are clear and need the stock OEM tail lenses not much good to me. What is the going rate for a pair right now? Thanks

They're not clear. Appearance wise, they look identical to oem '01 - '02 4Runner tails. However, operational wise, they are identical to oem '06 - current 4Runner tails. Meaning, only the running lights and brake lights are LEDs. The turn signal and reverse bulbs are still halogen.

Prices are listed on his site:

PS: LED tails rock

They really need to make more lights for 2nd gen 4Runners/surfs. Cause all they sell are in Australia and the UK and they're just clear with built in reverse lights.

Thanks Rock for the link but they show red lense tails and I don't need the entire lense assembly. They look just like OEM tail lights only with LEDs. I have clear JDM lenses and need RED LEDs that look clear when off but are RED when on, not clear that need the red lense. I may just have to go with aftermarket replacement bulbs but can not find any in local supply.

I see, sounds like you just want LED bulbs. In that case, you'll have to go further out in the aftermarket community than Burtman. These LED tails are complete assemblies.

I've run a few different style LED bulbs in my previous oem tails. None could put out the light these LED tails do. May be you'll have better luck than I did finding high output LED tail light bulbs. Although, I don't believe there's a direct replacement bulb that can stack up to these tails. These are amazingly bright.
