Question new bumper?

i have an 82 yota and i found the bumper i want for it, the problem is they only make it for 84 & up, how hard would it be to make it work, are the frames wider? or is it just a trimming thing?

more than likely the rock defense bumper you are looking at is sold by trail-gear, a lot of other dealers are resellers for Trail-gear:
http://www.trail-gear.com/toy-bumper.html

If this is the same bumper than they base it off the Trail Gear Winch plate mount. It will not bolt up your frame, but you can weld it on. It is what I did on my '81 it fits just fine:

the only thing is that some of the end radius on the tubes might be different where is would curve back around the fenders...
I wish I had know they were coming out with this, it would have been a lot easier to go that route than waiting to build my own..
