Any Painters? Need Advice

I got a 1988 Yota Pickup Reg Cab. I recently primed it because it was all diffrent colors. I am not looking to actually paint it right now but Im sure everyone here knows that mud/dirt/grease will stain this primer coat and not come off.

So my question

Is there something I can put on it so the mud/dirt won't stain the primer coat? I just need something to protect it. I will have it painted but its gonna be awhile before I do.

Primer is to porous to be used long term. Maybe just sand and spray bomb temporarily with paint or clear coat for now.

So I could just throw a layer or two of regular paint and be fine? I have a few dents I need to fill and a few rough areas. Regular paint will last? Anything cheap you know of? I am low on cash but I want it to look decent. I aint out for looks but it looked like a pile of before. Atleast now it looks better.

It won't be fine, but it'll be better than just primer. For temporary like I said before just spray can it, match the color code if you want it to look not so getto.

rattle can it a flat or semi gloss.. your going to have to sand again when you get around to paint it.. go to Wal-Store and pick up some 97 cent a can flat back or green and do er up.. easy to touch up if it rubs off.. also easy to make look even with out an actual spray gun

hope that helpd

If you use a degreeser and sealer you may be ok till you paint it.

Have you thought of painting it with a roller? Seems fairly cheap to do-I assume the reason you are waiting is $? There was a good thread on TTORA about roll on paint http://www.ttora.com/forum/showthrea...t=roller+paint
