It was simple. wjwerdna, that worked and helped some, but i wanted the sound gone.

Open the hood.

Disconnect the chirper at the electrical connector.

Done.

The lock/unlock works and lights flash, but no annoying chirp.

Thanks guys! and good luck with yours! took me about 60 seconds!

Lol... cool, well out of the two suggestions, both basically helped I hope, and the TSB at least shows the location of the chirper if the second suggestion came into play I always liked the chirp for the sole reason I could hear whether or not it locked

I just installed a Viper Alarm a while ago, much more annoying chirp, and don't need the chirp since it displays on my keyfob whether it is locked or not... only fun thing about it is that I can lock/unlock the truck from inside at my desk, making it chirp, right when people walk in front of it... I need to find something better to do with my time =)

really, you're panic button will no longer work...I've disabled my keyless entry chirp and my panic button still operates properly. Sometimes I hit it mistakenly, and my horn starts sounding off like crazy.

Or is it b/c you've done something differently to make it stop working?

Only thing worse than that is when I accidentally roll down the rear window. Rolls down, but doesn't roll up. For shame Mr.Toyoda.

OH the panic DOES still work! I figured it used the chirp, but I guess it uses the actual horn?

im always too far away to roll down the window by accident...how far will ur guys' remotes work from?

Battery life significantly affects the remotes effective distance. I can't really say how far I can roll down the window from because it's usually a surprise when I get back to my truck.

Correct, the panic button sounds the horn, not the chirp. Just press and hold the panic button, you'll find out real quick what sounds .

I'd hate to know that if my wife ever felt the need to sound her panic button, that only the chirper would sound...no one from any distance away could hear that.

I believe most oem 3rd gen remotes only have about a 20-25ft range. Sometimes I can operate the remote from further away, but often times, it's less than that. Also, it seems I can only roll my rear window down from further away than I can actually lock/unlock my doors...go figure.

Search RS3000. There is a tech manual online I have downloaded but do not have it with me here. RS3000 should be the name of the alarm.
