first, take off the chrome wheel trim thing, that will give you more access to the cone washers, then thread the nuts on each stud about 2 turns, then tap the hub by the cone washer with a hammer, work your way around the hub, they will come off eventually, and remove the snap ring on the end of the axle if you haven't done it already

i unscrew the nut to the end of the stud.
take a 1/8"punch and put on the end of the stud and tap with a hammer.
with needle nose pliers put the tip on the slit on the cone washer, it keeps from closing the cone washer. now twist and pull.
you may have to tap it a few times
do not beat on it.

Take a little screw driver and tap it in to the slot on the cone washers, after a couple of taps the washer will come out on the screw driver. I would take that chrome ring off also. Tap around the base of it and it might work the rust loose that you can pull it off. Put anit seize on the chrome ring also before you reinstall.

I put a chisel or old 3/8 extension on the ends of the bolts and give them a good thud with the hammer. Cone washers come right off. Are you trying to rebuild the manual hubs? If not then all you need is to remove the bolt from the end of the axle and its washer. Thats what prevents the CV from going further inboard. I remove that and the six inboard bolts on the axle and badda bing the CV axle slides right out. If you are rebuilding the hubs (repacking the bearings etc) then lose those rings. They don't look all that great and like you saw they are a problem when they rust.

Wow, there is so much wrong in this post...
Eventually, you will mess up the studs, and then it REALLY gets interesting. USE BRASS with this method.
Yours is not assembled right. There is a circlip/snapring in there that you need to remove - the bolt/washer is just a "safety". If you just have it, there is too much play in the system.
