Question on 99-4runner windows

Did the 99 4runners had the Auto-Up power window feature for the drivers door (LF)?

Thanks
Doug

I just learned something new about these windows lol. The 99's have the auto up/down feature, where the 98 and earlier trucks do not! Neat. Apparently the 99 4runners have a 5 wire motor/regulator. Neat also.

I want an auto-up on my window! I've always wondered why it didn't have it.

Thanks for the fast info, I'm buying a used 99 motor and wanted to be sure it fits in my 01, it will.

Just so you know, if these motors ever make noise and you feel like greasing them, be warned,.....They are one of the most complicated electro mechanical devices I have seen and I ran a business fixing things like this for 25 years. The motor is straight foreward but these auto-up motors also have a safety feature which makes them auto reverse if something is between the glass and the top of the door-(like a hand or a kids head). To keep track of where the motor has the window, the gearing uses a set of counter rotating timing discs and five contacts, all of which are controled and moved by three planetary gears that are timed off the main drive gear. These discs and contacts also tell it when there is a change in current which does the auto-reverse. Long story short, there is so much going on in that motor and the regulator that without a manual on the motor itself, one either has to have a week to spend on trial and error or be a very avid church go-er...

Doug

PS: I have spent a bunch of time on mine and have it real close but I've had the motor completely apart 4 times and the regulator in and out of the door atleast 20 times--(I can do it in much less than 5 minutes--LOL)
