Install aftermarket radio into a 1986 Toyota pickup no speaker sound. Please help?
Trying to install aftermarket radio into 1986 pickup. First of all I have to connect the ignition wire to the battery wire to get radio to power on. Then after that no sound from speakers. Please let me know if you have any ideas

Yes I bought it from Walmart car-1398 Toyota 1983 to 86

If you got the proper installation harness the diagrams that come with the radio and that harness should explain everything.
it sounds like you already blew a fuse if you have to connect both power wires to the batt wire. you need a meter or a test light.
did you get any sound out of the original radio? did you or the former owner cut the wires to the radio plug?

I assume you did not remove a working radio. So akwheeler's advice is where you are now. You'll need to use your multimeter and the new radio's wiring diagram to figure out which of your existing wires are hooked up correctly. ( if you have to "connect the ignition wire to the battery wire to get radio to power on," you know that you have a little bit of work ahead of you.) You might want to pick up a dirt-cheap 4 ohm speaker to confirm you're getting output from the new radio.

No sound from speakers
Turns out did did a blown fuse in the fuse box under the hood. Silly wabbit I was looking in the wrong fuse box for the blown fuse. Only problem I've got now is still no sound coming from speakers. Only a little cracking when I'm hooking the continuous power wires back together. .

The blue wire of what? Your adapter?
The continuous power wire of your truck should be the L-Y (Blue-Yellow) wire to the Dome fuse. The GR (Gray) wire to the Radio fuse is switched.

OP, we are more than happy to help, cool your new to forums but the info we’re getting is hard to troubleshoot with the info your giving.
Was all the speakers working before the factory deck went out?
The harness you listed isn’t coming up on Walmart’s site?
The solid blue wire coming out of what? The new deck? Solid blue is the power antenna and blue with white stripe is usually the remote amp wire....

The blue wire I was speaking of is coming from the wire harness which came with the new deck. And yes the speakers were working but 32 year old factory radio was failing. Thanks for your help guy. I was trying to do a quick job and it didn't work very well. I'll get it taken care of in the morning. Again I apologize to everyone but the person with less patience than myself.

I'm not sure how anyone here would know anything about your new, unnamed, deck. Where ever you got it, I'm pretty sure it came with some documentation. I would start there.

And actual power for powering the radio is from accressory?

Switched Power drives the rest .
It was not bad in my Youth Having the Push buttons that moved the tuner physically .
Then not more then 1 or 2 Local stations
