Gauge mounting help

Can I get some honest opinions on this gauge mount and location?
The gauges are 2" in a Glowshift pod. (Nothing has been mounted yet)

Thanks

If you want honest . . .
I haven't found a really good place in mine to put gauges other than doing a SR5 swap.
Maybe on the pillar would look better.
And white face gauges don't look right with the rest being black.
But, that is just my tastes - if you like it go for it.

Red face

Perfect that is where all my Aftermarket gauges are mounted.

What I used was a piece of flat ABS plastic drilled and tapped for the gauge pods.

Then I used Clear Silicone caulk to mount the complete assembly .

That way if you really need to It can be removed leaving no holes and no mess.

Thanks to all for the replies.
After debating for 1/2 the day I went head and used the glowshift dash pod.
I made up a mock-up of a pillar pod and found I hit it a lot getting in and out of the truck. Im using two 4"x2" velcro strips to hold it down.

flg8r22,
I may be down in your neck of the woods next week. Trying to buy a 17' Mako center console project boat near White city.

Looks good to me. I would use silicone to stick it on, too... but not let it squeeze out as much as Craig's ^^^ - LOL!
I like that pod, too. Do the gages use electrical senders, or capillary tubes?

Water and oil are mechanical. (I still have the sr5 gauges working as well)
2" Equus Model 8200 $44 with the Glowshift Pod Model GS-UD3 $14.99.
I also got the copper tube kit and the adapter kit for $23.
I used (2) 2"x4" Velcro strips to hold it down.

Your gauges turned out nice. I used the same mounting pod on my 86' but I trimmed the base a little shorter and built a mounting bracket to contour the shape of the dash a little better. *Edit I just click on your pic and realized that your dash is flat on top, your pod fit alot nicer than mine. Mine had the dish shape in it (for the inclinometer?) but made it harder to install.*

If you wanted to match the white face of your aftermarket gauges you can check Lowrange Offroad, they carry a vinyl decal overlay that you can apply over your existing gauge face.

Thanks. It wasn't that hard to do. Cost like $40 total

I never used the pocket thing so I filled it in with fiberglass to make a flat surface for the gauge pod.

Thanks for the link I didnt think of decals.
