SUCKS ... just bought myself a new puter , and ohhh boy ... I sure wish I had stayed with my old XP and IE6 , i'n fact i also bought a used XP system to network so i can deal with this piece of crap !!

first off .. I had to replace most of my software , second and the thing that really bugs me , is NONE of the "clicks" work with this useless piece of junk .. Bill Gates .. I hope you read this , as i am 1 unhappy customer !!!!

WXP was pretty bad until the first service pack, btw. I've dabbled with W7 and in general I like it, but it's different enough to be a bit annoying.

IE6 was pretty bad, I'm surprised you're happy with that.

I love Windows 7. Alot better then XP imo. But ditch IE period and go with Firefox, alot faster and safer.

my problem with vista was it was laggy under a heavy load, other than that its great. my sister has it on her computer, 64bit vista, 8GB ram, and it runs FAST. on this computer i have windows 7 on this drive (what im on now... windows 7 RC client 7100) and on my other one i have vista. im waiting to format my vista drive (my brand new sata 500gb drive) until i BUY windows 7. having it on this computer... im loving it. 2GB ram on this computer, and ive about loaded up this 120gb IDE hard drive, and its still running as fast as it did when i installed it. i have encountered NO glitches other than once in awhile it wont go into sleep mode. but its a VERY stable o/s, especially being a pre-release. though setting it up was annoying. all my old programs work (have WoW, MS Office2003, iTunes, unreal tournament games pack, battlefield 2, etc) and they work PERFECTLY. the trick was getting my sound card (sound blaster live VALUE! made in 1999, driver support stopped with XP, let alone 64 bit!!) and wireless card (netgear supposedly isnt making 64bit drivers yet...whatevr!!!). but i got some 3rd party drivers, and theyre working fine. yeah, im LOVIN windows 7. im not sure bout the retail version, but ive heard it has XP mode compatibility... try that??

my biggest issue with it is the email .. I know Vista used outlook , hotmail and live .. but seriously .. it absolutly does NOT compare to outlook express . I cordinate 4 different websites and mail .. LIVE is a JOKE for business use !!
I'm also having "comunication errors" between my current email cliant and live .. + also tried thunderbird , which was my best hope for different "identities" and also had issues with "communication" (64 bit)

ok so personal use/surfing great .. super fast (I love that part) but not all the sites yet are "up to speed" .. I have alread had this "freeze" up on me twice with IE .. I also run google chrome which seems to be better .

I will admit , i'm no computer nerd .... but I had very few issues with XP 5 years ago when I first got that compared to this opperating system !

ohh and sure , microsoft offers a "business software package" for $700.00 but come on .. you serious ?

I use (previously mentioned) Firefox for 99% of my web browsing and Thunderbird for my non-Exchange e-mail.

I never liked Outlook Express, so I didn't miss it.

outlook express, they should have never gotten rid of. im using outlook 2003 for my email, as its as close as outlook express ur gonna get in windows 7. i tried thunderbird, and it wouldnt identify my pop server, and would give me an error when i would type it in. i said screw it and installed LIVE. yeah, LIVE sucks. so i installed my ITT-TECH issued copy of office 2003, and set outlook to my primary email, and no problems.
and firefox is GREAT!
what i love about vista though is you have windows mail... which is just like outlook express but a bit more powerful.

I've been using windows 7 and really like it. For email I've been using thunderbird for years now.
It's a very good program, the calender portion also ties in with google calender, so all your stuff is stored online if you'd like so.
Chrome for browsing for me. Firefox is getting buggy nowadays I find, it freezes quite often. IE I haven't used for years.
