Converting Nintendo controller to USB.
I have a Nintendo emulator on my computer, but it's not the same playing the games on a keyboard.
Has anyone done this? I've been reading about the wiring process but I'm not sure if I want to do it myself or just buy an adapter on Ebay.
Also, if I do purchase one, I was thinking of getting a Super Nintendo adapter so that I could play those games too. I imagine I can configure the SNES controller to play the regular Nintendo games right?

I just bought a USB thing from Wal-Mart that can take in a PS, XBox, or GameCube controller and has software to use it. There may be a similar thing for Nintendo controllers. But for sure show us how you just converted it if you do it yourself.

Alright, this is what I've formulated:
Using a three adapter USB hub, a small flash drive and two controllers (with 2 adapters), I'm gonna make a small Nintendo/Super Nintendo console. The Flash Disk will be loaded with the NES and SNES emulator and all the games. I'm thinking a basic GUI (Graphic User Interface) that will let you select with the controller which system you want to use, and an .ini file that will boot the GUI whenever the USB plugged in.
So essentially you:
1) Plug the 1st and 2nd player controller in the hub with the flash disk in the third slot
2) Plug the hub in the computers USB
4)the .ini file will automatically boot the System Selector GUI on the computer and bring up a menu where you can select Nintendo or Super Nintendo.
5) Once you choose the gaming platform, you can then choose from the thousands of games that are available.
You could also configure each emulator to recognize by default each controller and assign all the correct buttons automatically (ie, play regular Nintendo games with a Super Nintendo Controller)
Super Nintendo to USB port adapter:
3 port hub (something like this):
Stay tuned for updates as I try to piece this thing together...
