You will need a web host\server. Are you wanting to just make a webpage or a website? If you just want a free webpage then check out angelfire.com and geocities.com. If you are wanting a website search around for the best host that will suit your needs. I have always been partial to digitalinet.com

yeah you need a host and an ftp program unless the host provides a web-based file manager.

yep - what they said.

I've had good luck with godaddy - cheap ($9 for a domain name, if you want one, $4/mo for hosting).

i use omnis. Ive been very happy with the service and never had a problem with access.

I use a simple ftp program but they also provide webased file management as well as email account managment etc. Spam filter works well and you can create custom rules and or whitelist/blacklist.

I used ipowerweb, it was cheep, like $7.00 a month and offered alot. Now that i am hosting my own, i only use ipower for my domain name, it was like $2.50 a year the cheepest i could find.

www.1and1.com has a $1.99 special...

edit... oops... it's $2.99. not $1.99.

you get

* 1 domain name
* 5 GB web space
* 500 e-mail accounts
* 250 GB traffic
