So, I've read pros and cons regarding security issues and am still unsure. Opinions?

Bob, do we need to DL it, or can the current one update itself from the Help menu?

I read about it in my PC mags, will upgrade soon.

I don't know, at least from a quick scan of the link. We should know more later today.

Corey, just d/l v.3. It overwrites existing files, no uninstall required. They say all bookmarks and settings are retained, but it won't work with Vista.

Just kidding, it works with most everything.

Bummer on the Vista, that is what is on my laptop.

Bob, trying to update my main PC with XP Pro, and Firefox's updater times out.
Must be from all the downloading taking place.

I can wait awhile, I want to see if it will update itself from the Help menu later.
If not, I will get the 3 version later on.

I just downloaded FF3... then when I went to install, it recognized the old version and seemed to update no problem.

I was kidding about Vista and included a disclaimer!

It took me hours to get a connection. It installed fine, but the fonts were huge. After some Windows tweaking and re-boot, got them back to normal.

I got an alert that some part of AVG doesn't work yet, and neither does Roboform, so I'll be with IE7 until they update.

Firefox now offers the upgrade via the Help menu.
Before it did not, it would only upgrade version 2.
Now it will take it to version 3.1.

Did my PC at work first, then I did my PVR PC in the spare room.
Just did my gaming rig that is my main PC.
Will do the laptop later when I fire itup.

Here is a speed test after upgrading Firefox.

Pretty good since my service is 8 megabit down, and 3 megabit up.
24 megabit is the norm most of the time.
If I take the router out of the equation, I can get close to 30 megabit sometimes.

All of my plugins for Firefox are compatible too with the upgrade to version 3.

Just did mine. Unfortunately, I had a couple of plugins that weren't compatible. Oh well. I like it, though, overall.

I LOVE Adblock. Makes surfing a whole lot nicer...

Yeah, actually Ad Block Plus is the only plugin I run on my three home computers.

On the laptop right now, and just upgraded it to 3.1.
So far I like it.

Wireless with the laptop is not as fast as my hard wired PCs though.
