need help boosting wireless router range

I've got a Netgear WGT624 wireless router and want to extend the range of it. I'm pretty sure the antenna is not removable so getting a new one is out of the question. Do you guys recommend getting the Hawking signal booster thing-a-majiggers? What would work for my router? Or am I "scrood"!!!

TIA as always.

Have you researched wireless repeaters' you may be able to extend your range by as much as 150 percent. Or are you trying to rebroadcast your broadband (an ethical/moral/legal dilema) a helical antenna and a server would do the trick.

They do thta in Florida with the repeaters. One person pays for the actual service, and the rest pay them $10/month.

Well, I was trying to figure out if I could take off the antenna and guess what, the damn thing broke  , so I guess the new question would be: What's a good wireless router these days?

Do you really need more than a 11Mb/s link? If not, buy this...

I've personally compared this model (when it was >$400 when new) to the likes of Linksys and Netgear (<$100) that you find in retail stores and it was literally 3-4 times the range.
