Mount it on the outside corner of the rear bumper, if the antenna will clear the rear glass.

Not really - you can just use a piece of flat bar with a hole drilled in one side that attaches to your rear bumper using existing bumper bolts (they are long enough) and then drill a hole in the other end for the mount.

If you want, you can round off the corners so you don't cut your leg on the corners if you catch your leg or pants on the corners.

If you really want something stronger like if you plan to use a 102" whip or taller coil antenna, you could use angle iron/angle aluminum.

Other than that, it's no big deal at all.

Aloha,

Merlin

I'm thinking about a C.B., I've noticed that if you're antenna is too stiff going through the woods it's always being raked back by low limbs. So I'm going with one that has a lot of flex

well it is a 6 ft fire stick and it does have some flex to it not having a spring but this one has a big spring on it and it is 8 years old so it is really flexy and yes it does rack on every thing in the way kinda annoying a 6 ft is kinda heavy soo i would want to use a piece of angle iron or angle aluminum??? i really appreciate your guys help were just trying to get it all figerd out and set up before hunting season so we can take more then one rig less then 2 weeks away soo this is really helpful to us thanks again

The firestick antennas are pretty flexible (kind of like the Shakespeare Ugly Stick fishing pole). You can almost bend them double (got one caught in a garage door once) and it didn't break. The spring will help absorb some of the shock of hitting it on things to some degree also, so it won't hurt to leave the spring on.

If you plan on catching it on things, you may want to consider using angle iron for increased strength when you snag the antenna. A 6 foot firestick can probably generate a fair amount of leverage on the mount.

Aloha,

Merlin

yea i can bend my fire stick just about in half and im really suprised that it will do that with out breaking and we finally mounted it hooked his c/b up today and it looks alright it works we ended up taking a piece of angle iron about 11 inches long and welding it to the side of the tow package and the drilling two holes for the mount and mounted it on that it looks pretty good i think
