i have a garmin 60cs and now using a ram mount. after using the garmin mount, i was not satisfied...it was not sturdy enough and fell off a few times. after seeing noliwan's ram mount at pismo last summer, that was enough to convince me that the ram mount was the one to get. look at his pics on this thread here: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...ight=ram+mount

i LOVE my gps... I have the Quest. there is now the Quest2 which has more memory. mine allows you to load the detailed maps (which show most 4wheelin trail belive it or not) bascily along the I-5 corradoor (sp?) form canada to LA. which is PLENTY. the Quest2 allows for the entire country. it also has a small Yellow Pages built in. the thing has paid for it self in 4-dumb-dumb calls (i HATE 411) when you get to a new city and say "gee i want Greek food for dinner" it will find it, give you the phone number and then give you step my step navigation there. or if you need the number to a store while out running around town.. its awsome. i love it.

eTrex unit mounted to a Pro-Fit mount with a Radio Shack jaw clamp device mounted to it.

Works very well.
If you Google Pro-Fit, you will find their website.
They make mounts for many a rig.

thankx guys, looks like either a Pro Fir mount or the Ram Mount, they both look great, and are out of the way of your view while driving.

ric,

knowing you, you dont skimp on your off roading stuff. thus, i highly recommend the ram mount. that suction mount is HUGE and dwarfs any other mounts on the market. it keeps your eyes at road level which is nice.

while it may look obnoxiously huge, you quickly forget about that once you are on the trails and your gps doesnt come crashing to the ground with some other mounts.

you do know me, lol yea I try not to skimp on things, I want to buy it "once" and only once.
but I am looking at that Ram mount. Im sure thats what Ill go with.
Im still trying to figure out the best place for the external antenna, and the routing of the line.
thankx for the advice...

Pro-Fit mount with a RAM cradle is an awsome combo. It is wht I use for my Lowrance IFinder. External antenna is amazing as well, and only cost $25.

I know... did you see the pics in the threads I pointed at? There're more than what's here, and also includes background info and bracket descriptions like you asked for.

No way... does that happen to you?

It happened to me a LOT until I broke down and screwed the Ram mount into the dash.
