Subwoofer ideas.

alright. ive got a 10 inch rockford fosgate phase 2 woofer right now in a q-logic box. in my old truck it shoved right behind the seat, and i didnt rly have to worry about it much. now, ive got an ext cab, so ive gotta worry about leaving the back 2 seats open. id also like to upgrade slightly. i also need a truck box.

however, ive got practically no money at all. i have a set of wheels im trying to sell, ive got a pioneer headunit im trying to sell, and i can sell my old woofer and box combo.
whatever funds i generate from that would need to go towards the truck box first, then towards the woofer fund.

i am looking for some suggetions for the woofer and such. ive got a really nice set up now, and i need(want) something with a little more thump and power.

i plan on getting about 100 for the wheels, 50 or more for the cd player, and hopefully about 150-200 for the woofer and amp and hook up id do for the friend thats interested right now. therefore think around 200 for a woofer box combo. any ideas? id like it to be heard over the front polk components and the back 2 ways. id also like it to be a small enough box to leave enough room for both seats to be utilized.

thanks much. and sry for the lengthy post.

I would say get 2 custom boxes one under each seat, with the pioneer 1200w "skinni" subs. It would be expensive though..

im lookin in like the 250 dollar range for sub and box. that obviously limits it somewhat. unless of course someone wants to buy my freakin tires that ive GOT to get rid of anyways. hopefully another 100 bucks or so there. the 350 range is nice. im thinkin i can get a shop to build a custom box for me that would leave most of the seats and the belts open but be big enough for a good sized noisemaker.

so if theres any suggestions that fit inside that price range, OR if theres anyone that wants to get ahold of those wheels, keep on postin. lol

lol. ok. lets see... aiming for the 250 range, want to keep my 2 rear seats functional... 3 12's might not fit all too well. also, ive only got 450 watts of power available for a noisemaker. cant rly go buy another one. its just a little alpine mono amp.

as for building the box, im deff down for that. i plan on custom making it so it will fit in the center between the 2 rear seats and leave them available to seat people with seatbelts. lol. so thats not a problem. its rly just finding a good sounding sub that can run off of 450 watts and fits inside my price range.

unless you BUY MY WHEELS!!! then we're talkin 350. hehehe

this would be perfect...http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Kicke...oductDetail.do
or you can buy just the sub....http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Kicke...oductDetail.do
or if you want to step up to a better sub....http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Kicke...oductDetail.do

the sub u said was a step up, looks nice, but my experiance with kickers hasnt been the best. from what i can tell they have some good thump, but the quality isnt the greatest. i want something that will rly sound good with the polks ive got and will get loud too.

Well I have 2 CVR 12s in the back of my 4runner being pushed by a crappy Sony 1200w 2channel amp, and the quality and thump in my opinion are top notch (for a mid-priced sub)

true. well. i've looked at them some more, and im thinkin about it. i may just have to go to circuit city in the near future and see if i cant find me a noise maker. ive just gotta push this deal through for all my stuff so i can have the funds to do it. i do hate being limited in my choices though. freakin best buy and circuit city. and then once i get into the smaller store, the prices hit the roof. freakin stinkin. lol.

thanks for the input though.

ok. forget all that. ive found a new love. lol. i heard a pair of polk 12's playin, and wanted them. i checked with a local store, and with the amp ive got now, he said...

polk 15!!!

now, my plan was to build my own box that would sit up above the seats so that the seatbelts could still clip in behind and underneath it. my mother is now saying thats dumb and dangerous and if someone slammed their head into that... which is kinda dumb. if my truck gets t-boned, we're gonna have worse problems than someone bangin their head against a stationary box. i plan on padding it a little bit too. we'll see.

anyways, here it is. http://www.polkaudio.com/caraudio/specs/mm2154/

any takers?
