jl vs crossfire

I am looking at am amp to power my Kappa perfect 12.1. This is a temporary subwoofer system. Ill be switching to dynaudio drivers soon. My first instinct was the JL 1200e, and i was about to buy it but a friend of mine is raving up and down about this crossfire tek752. So before i buy the jl I figured i would post this. Or if you guys have any ideas let me know, I need a 200-500 watt amp under $200 on ebay. dim= roughly 10x10. It will be for 100% SQ, to integrate with my mcintosh and dynaudio components, thanks

crossfire makes strong amps, they usally are more powerful than the listed ratings. I personally just dont like JL anymore. Call me even a JL rasict

The Audiobahn amps look good but thier power isnt the best. I recomend the Rockford Power amps they proved awsome power, but at a price. Another brand you cant go wrong with if your looking for massive power is USA amps. theyre somthing like 50cents a watt

I used to work at Circuit City and I would go with the Infinity amps for sure...I've owned Audiobahn, Rockford and JL and the Infinity is by far my favorite. I am completely addicted to Infinity stuff now...I went to a competition yesterday and we had an all Infinity section and they were by far the better sounding systems. Some of the others may bump a little louder, but its not all about bump if you're a true audiophile...once the bump gets too much the vocals go to crap. Infinity is by far the cleanest and clearest bass provider out there IMHO.

LOL I work at CC now and infinity is good but ill take Incriminator Audio Leathal Injections over ANY infinity sub on the marke for SQ and spl. Heck even a Resonant Engineering XXX over any infinity sub. Mids and highs, Ill stack my coaxial orions up against the infinity comps anyday. It's all install. Now having said that Infinity does kill most of the rest of the main stream market for sq save the w7 from JL.

You can count the number of subs ever made that match the w7 accuracy with one hand....

Crossfire makes a DAMN strong amp. I've used em as has my buddy in his competition vehicle (24 crossfire bmf 1000ds and 6 15s) They exceed rated power and handle abuse very well.

The aformentioned buddy has since switched to MTX 1501d's mainly for the added power they provide at 17.5vdc. The MTX 1501d is a stronger and more durable amp, but rightfully so - I have yet to use an amp that's tougher than an MTX....

Thanks guys. 4x4fink, I like infinity as well, for the money I havent heard anything that completely kills it. They arent big on spl, but that doest sound like your bag anyway. I started out on infinity back in the day when I worked at circuit (cant beat a Kappa perfect for $90 on accomodations). Then I worked at Tweeter, JL was nice there. Now its only Mcintosh and dynaudio for me. Anyway, I ordered an amp today I found a Mcintosh mcc82 for $200!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so glad I checked. Its only 100x1 at 4ohms, but thats a Mcintosh rating. I will only be powering a Dynaudio 10 in. woofer (not sub, sq remember).
