Gets their jollies off.
We are one of the biggest all Toyota off road truck and SUV site out there, so maybe someone feels threatened?
I do not have the answers, but I sure would like to pry it with a crowbar from their brain.
Could be numerous reasons, but it boils down to they are cowards.

Not yet, but this last attack was not making as big a hit as the other one.
Maybe IT was able to pull on their cable on their end and pull the guy through their screen and bitch slap 'em.
I am still waiting for a plugin for Firefox to do that
That would be the ultimate plugin.
Gives a whole new meaning to reach out and touch someone.

I think we are under attack again.
It was hard surfing from Boeing today, and it is even worse now that I am home.

It causes hours upon hours of work.
Temporarily close down the registation page? Add it to the notice.

OK, here is the news.
It is not one hacker sitting behind his keyboard playing Internet Tough Guy hacking us.

It is people who do not believe in installing spyware detection software on their computers who have had their PCs taken over by malware being installed on their PCs.

Some people do not believe in installing and updating antivirus and spyware detection software, so their PCs get infected.

The person who wrote the code for the malware has these "zombie" computers working in unison carrying out the DOS (denial of service) attack on the network here.

As long as their PCs are turned on, they are instructed to attack the site here with flooded requests.
As you can imagine, it can be hard if not impossible to track them down.
The people who own the infected PCs probably have zero clues that their PCs are even infected except that they are running very slow.
