Just depends; most people don't answer the question & then tell the asker how the info could be found through a search. If the site wants to grow it will be a friend to the new people who are learning about their Toyota. I myself have been lurking on here for a while using the search feature often but it's difficult to find some info because you don't know what term to search for or the info you find has expired links or pictures that are no longer there.

I am no "newb" to the internet or forums though & I know how tedious it can be to answer the same question over & over again. I find that if a question bothers me....I just ignore it instead of popping off. If a person is smart enough to figure out how to register & post they already know about the search button.

Take me for instance with a recent pop & grind in my drivers side front cv next to the wheel; I didn't know the front axle was called a half-shaft & it made searching for a diagnosis of the CV & a write up of how to remove it difficult. It has taken me two days of searching to learn what I have about it & if I was in a hurry that might have been two days too long.

But I say; sure, explain the virtues of the search button as long as you are nice about it & do it in a "trying to be helpful" manner.

Just my opinion of course.

Normally I would say yes, remind somebody to search. However, here at yotatech searches don't seem to work at all for me making them mostly useless.

being really new I think it's ok to tell people to search, if "you" know that there is something out there answering it, i.e. seaform, deckplate mod, stuff like that. I have read a lot of stuff and have used the search feature quite a bit
