Thanks Mike!
I hated them at first but now I just dislike them. Yesterday I was on 299 and this CHP came up fast right behind me and followed me for a few miles then pulled out around me and drove by and HE WAVED! ahhahaha
I talk to a few guys around here and they say Humboldt is pretty bad for no mudflap stops. One guy said its because there are so many broken windshields from rocks being kicked up by logging trucks. I suppose there a lots of complaints so they watch it pretty close.
You should post up a picture of your mudflaps.

Eh..

My flaps are lame.. I dont' really care. Got it done for like $12 or just the cost of the rubber.

I raided my buddys bucket of spare bolts and metal. and if need be i have spare nuts and bolts that hold the flaps together. (center pins, etc...)

Mike- your mud flaps look way better than mine.

Yoder15 - I wish I could have left em on there but one was torn and I couldnt get it secured on there and it fell off and I lost it and the other one burned. I had some credit at a parts place and ordered a plain pair for $15.00.

Yeah thats true who cares. I do like the look of the tire sticking out the back though. Now its covered up.
They have kept me from getting pulled over so far.

lol last time i checked, budget floor mats cost more than budget mud flaps.

im one of those people that do the minimum, no flaps or flares

last time i got pulled over the cop was like (do you know why i pulled you over?) i said because my windows are covered in mud? (no) because i dont have mud flaps? (no) fender flares ? (no, son you dont have a front license plate!) i dont? lol. (no you dont, and your back one is almost ripped in half!)

oh sorry about that officer i wasn't aware of those issues.

he let me go with a warning, and never said anything about the mud covered yota on 37's with no flaps or flares

lol

I helped sas my buddy's pickup when he drove down for a week from oregon..
Well about 2 hrs from leaving his base in oregon he stopped and noticed his rear liscense plate fell off..

that SOB drove all the way to california, around town when he got here, and all the way back without getting pulled over on a lifted toyota with tires that stuck out a good bit..

Thats typical! I can't drive to the market (1.2 miles north) without a convoy of Sheriffs and Highway Patrol tailing behind.

It’s funny that this thread came up cause CHP just busted me for no mud flaps now I won’t even take my runner out of the garage because I'm afraid CHP might be lurking. Derek can you post picks on how u mounted the flaps I'm in the process of trying to make some easy off mud flaps so I can get her back on the road.

Thanks in advance

Hey Jacruz!
I swear the CHP around has issues with these rigs. I wonder if these huge Fords, Chevys, etc. are getting stopped as much as us.
Here is my setup. I fabbed something up kinda quick and dirty. I welded the nuts and tapped the holes on the bar to make it easier and faster to wrench off. The little plate that holds the bar is welded in place and on an angle.
Hope this helps..

Yeah CHP caught me in the safety corridor the crappy part is this guy turned around to get me. I was headed south and he was headed north at least it was a warning and nothing else. I'm going to do something similar but maybe using some kind of quick release mechanism.

Thanks
